From Bret:
"Hi, my name is Bret, and I never, EVER saw myself becoming a gym or business owner.
A horrible sports injury in college (complete hamstring tear while running track)
caused me to change my major from Journalism to Exercise Science.
I wanted to learn help people avoid the physical problems I had,
all of which were due to poor flexibility, muscle imbalances, and poor movement overall.
After graduating with my BS, I decided to become a PE and Health teacher at the high school level.
I earned my MA in Teaching in 2011, but positions were super scarce to come by at the time. What a blessing in disguise!
I turned to personal training, and immediately knew I found my calling.
Along the way in 2014 I learned about Calisthenics
and it quickly made my body start to feel WAY better.
I figured if I could have a good outcome, then I'd be able to help a lot of other people.
I've had a pretty great outcome.
Fast forward to present day, and I don't hurt any more!
All thanks to the power of Calisthenics.
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing our clients slowly unlock their potential
and achieve some milestone movements, like full pushups, full chin ups, or airborne lunges.
I also am very thankful to help people transform their lives with our
unique approach to nutrition coaching, called Cognitive Nutrition.
It's helped Megan and I as well as many of our members
overcome years of yo-yo dieting, disordered, restrictive, and emotional eating.
We don't just focus on food, but on improving how we think and
manage our emotions, so we can make better decisions more often.
The skills learned in Cognitive Nutrition have infinite
application real life that extend far beyond the kitchen.
Best perk of the job?
Building our dream business together with my wife, Megan."
